CALLING ALL AUTISM MOMS
You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
Let’s honor the hard, celebrate the beautiful, and build your support circle.
I’m an autism mom and therapist who helps other moms raising autistic children manage the nuanced journey of caregiving without losing themselves along the way.
At Riojas Counseling, you’ll find an invitation to write a different story for yourself and your family. A story that’s built on honesty, not perfection.
It’s time to create a space where you feel regulated, healthy, and whole without abandoning your unique responsibilities as a caregiver and mom.
Our Purpose
At Riojas Counseling, you’ll find the support you need to…
Feel seen, understood, and validated
The hard and beautiful parts of your life can coexist. By holding space for grief and creating room for joy, you’ll find a new way to thrive.
Trade burnout
for boundaries
You can’t do this on your own. Our work together helps you build your own circle of support so you can take care of yourself and your family.
Rewrite what’s possible for autism moms
We reject the exhausted, depleted autism mom stereotype. You can be a good mom who has boundaries and time for genuine self-care.

Services
This is your invitation to release the pressure to have it all figured out
Grief and joy can coexist in your daily life. Being an autism mom isn’t a tragedy… and it’s not a shiny highlight reel. It’s both. It’s complex.
And it’s an experience that can only be deeply understood by another autism mom. (That’s where I come in!)
At Riojas Counseling, therapy is more than time to vent. It gives you permission to feel all the things. It offers you space to receive help and learn how to prioritize yourself without guilt.
This kind of motherhood has unique challenges, and if you're struggling to meet all of those needs alone, this is your reminder that you're not broken. You just need someone to remind you that you matter and empower you to find the support you need to thrive.
Individual therapy sessions are $150/hour when you choose to private pay.
Insurance fees may vary.
Let’s empower + equip your audience
Meet your therapist
Hi, I’m Kathy! I talk about autism and the real, honest experience of being an autism mom (can’t stop, won’t stop!) because I’m passionate about helping moms of children with disabilities feel seen, heard, and hopeful.
I have three beautiful children, and my youngest son is autistic and non-speaking. Over the past 7 years, I’ve learned just how isolating and lonely life as an autism mom can feel. More importantly, I’ve learned how life-changing it can be to have the right kind of support, tools, and community.
I know exactly what it’s like to feel underwater and overwhelmed by a life you didn’t sign up for. That’s why I built this practice, so you don’t have to stay stuck, wishing there was someone else out there who just gets it.
I get it. I’m living it right alongside you. I’ll never tell you this is easy, but I will help you find your way back to yourself and a life that doesn’t deplete you. Together, we’ll write a new version of your story.

The truth I need you to hear today…
You deserve to love yourself as fiercely as you love your kids.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. No one does.
Being a “good mom” never has to mean sacrificing your joy or depleting yourself.
It's okay if a diagnosis has shattered your idea of what life was supposed to look like. You’re not alone.
You are carrying more than you can handle alone.
Grief is not the enemy of joy, and joy does not minimize your grief.
I’m here for you.
